new blog

ok, I have a new blog now -

http://superjen.wordpress.com/

I will keep this one up until I move everything over, one tedious post at a time since new blogger won't export in a format they'll take there.

new improved blogger

I shouldn't complain, cause it's free.

But I will.

Picasa doesn't send pictures anymore!? And I don't stay signed in. So off I go to find another service I guess, I'll try to play with this one for now. I never should have switched!!!

hooray for Popeye's!

Now close enough to home that the biscuits are still warm when I get there. I'm gonna be so fat.

"easy" fudge

So the recipe on the jar said this fudge would be easy - I disagree. Maybe I'm a weakling but stirring a really thick fudge for 5 minutes - five actual, literal minutes - is a lot harder than it sounds. But it turned out really well. It's holiday fudge. What makes it holiday fudge and not ordinary fudge? Sprinkles, of course!!! Posted by Picasa

swiss colony

So Nancy sent us a box from one of those Swiss Colony catalogs, and it was pretty neat - 6 pretty boxes stacked up and wrapped with a ribbon. Each box had samples of such culinary delicacies as Beef Log, Cheddar Spread, that 'grandma' ribbon candy that looks dusty and three years old right off the bat, and this Santa card made out of chocolate. The candy was surprisingly ok to eat. Our favorite was the mixed nuts, and JB likes the smoked cheese. It was just so much fun to get, I've probably spent a good 2 or 3 hours of my lifetime looking through those catalogs, wondering how the stuff tastes, filling out the form and forgetting to send it in etc.
So thanks, Nancy and Jim! Posted by Picasa

nyc update

So I really don't have anything to say about our trip to New York that I haven't already told people on the phone, so here's one of the collages that my camera makes out of short video clips. It pretty much sums up the trip: it's from the miniature holiday setup at Grand Central, it's Christmasey, the cabs are there and it's little blurry and hectic-looking. So there it is, the trip in one picture! Posted by Picasa
